St. George Utah is a great place for cyclists. While in many areas you may have to drive over an hour to get to a trail, those in Washington County have many options just a quick 15-minute drive away. Pick up a trail map from your trusted bike shop in St. George such as Bicycles Unlimited to see all the great options open to you. Our passionate employees know the best trails and can help direct you to a trail at your level.

Here are a few trail rides for you to check out based off of where you live such as:

  • Santa Clara or Ivins: Check out the Cove Wash trail system that features the Barrel Roll and Rim Runner.
  • Bloomington: Navajo Drive leads to the Bear Claw Poppy Trail/Green Valley Loop.
  • Little Valley or Washing Fields: Desert Canyons trails
  • Coral Canyon: Church Rocks Loop
  • Hurricane: J.E.M. Trail
  • St George: Paradise Canyon, and Red Hill (City Creek-Rusty Cliffs Trail)
  • Rockville: Gooseberry Mesa

If you don’t have the time to hit the trails, don’t fret! That’s right, just gear up and ride around in your driveway or neighborhood. During this time you can practice and build up your endurance for when you really hit the trails. Try practicing tight turns and track stands and other tricks that will help you when you are out on the trails. Another suggestion is to use the city as your trail. Riding around town will still give you the chance to pedal around and obtain the benefits of the ride. You can even hit two birds with one stone by using your bicycle as your main means of transportation. Not only are you saving money and getting some exercise while you get to where you need, but you also get to sneak in some cycling time as well.

Bicycles Unlimited Repairs and Servicing

bicycle repair shop with bike and tools

Whether you need a simple tune-up or a full tune-up, taking your bicycle into your #1 St George bike shop for your bicycle servicing will ensure you the work is done right. Depending on how often you ride your bicycle will tell you how often you should get a tune-up. A basic service should be done once every one to three months, depending on your usage. A major tune-up service should be done by the bicycle shop both at the beginning of your riding season, and at the end. The beginning service will ensure your bicycle is in tip-top shape to be ridden, and at the end of the season prepares your bicycle for long-term storage.

But what about those pesky repairs? Our top technician here, Nate, in the bike shop will treat your bicycle as if it was his own. He’ll make sure you are safe to ride your bicycle away when he is done with it. Just the other day, we had a customer that had a creaky sound that was driving him nuts. He couldn’t figure out how to fix it and no one else could either, but the trusty Bicycles Unlimited technician not only was able to find and repair the noise, he gave him helpful tips and tricks for the repair. You can check out the full video review here at our customer’s Youtube page

Nate - Bicycles Unlimited technician

Nate spent about 10 hours on this customer’s bicycle to find and fix this annoying sound coming from the bicycle. First things first, make sure your bike is clean! Next, check the pivots and ensure all the fasteners are all torqued properly. When it comes to noises, it is a process of elimination, checking places and making sure that they are clean and properly secured. This process can be quite lengthy. To be safe, hand your bicycle over to an experienced technician to make sure the work is done correctly. The best thing you can do for yourself and your bicycle is to make sure you are getting routine tune-ups that will check these things for you. Tune-ups can potentially catch the problem before it becomes a bigger problem. At Bicycles Unlimited our tune-ups come with a 30-day warranty on the services we provide.
