Service and Repairs

Bicycles Unlimited offers two tune-up levels. A Basic Tune-Up is $90, and a Major Tune-Up is $190.

The Basic Tune-Up adjusts your shifting and brakes, checks your chain for wear, and trues your wheels. We also check your headset, bottom bracket, and hub bearings. On full suspension bikes, we torque every bolt to the manufacturer’s specs. The Major Tune-Up includes all of that, plus a full degreasing of your chain, cassette, and crankset. We finish with a UV-protective polish on your frame. Both include free labor to install new tires, tubes, or cables.

Bring your bike in and we’ll give you an estimate. If you’re getting a tune-up, we install new tires, tubes, and cables at no extra labor charge.

Yes. We repair all makes and models, including the e-bikes we sell.

Yes, we service all makes and models. For bigger jobs like brake bleeding, bearing repacks, and suspension service, you get a labor discount when you pair them with a Major Tune-Up.

We put safety and quality first, but we still move fast. Visiting riders have come to us after crashes on training trips and been back on the trail quickly.

Absolutely. We invite customers to test bikes in the shop.

Bring your bike into the shop, or call us at (435) 673-4492 to schedule a tune-up.

Yes. Every service we provide comes with a 30-day warranty.

Our mechanics handle everything from simple tune-ups to full rebuilds. If we don’t have a part in stock, we can order it for you.

E-bikes

We carry e-hybrid and e-mountain bikes, including electric models from Trek.

Utah sorts e-bikes into 3 classes based on how the motor helps and how fast it assists. A Class 1 e-bike gives pedal assist only, up to 20 mph. A Class 2 adds a throttle, with assist capped at 20 mph. A Class 3 gives pedal assist up to 28 mph and has a speedometer. To count as an e-bike, it needs working pedals and a motor of 750 watts or less. Riders under 16 can’t ride a Class 3. Not sure which class fits your riding? Stop by Bicycles Unlimited, and we’ll help you find the right one.

It depends on who manages the trail. Utah generally allows e-bikes on paved paths and non-motorized state and local trails, unless a city restricts them. St. George’s paved multi-use trails, like the Virgin River Trail, welcome e-bikes. In Zion National Park, only Class 1 e-bikes are allowed, and only on park roads and the paved Pa’rus Trail. Most BLM singletrack around St. George, including Bearclaw Poppy, is closed to e-bikes unless a trail is designated for them. Always check the posted signs at the trailhead before you ride.

Trails and Gear

Some favorites include the paved Virgin River Trail, about 6 miles with no climbing. The Bloomington Micro-Loop runs 6 miles with very little climbing. Church Rocks is a 2.6-mile loop with a mild climb, and Secret Sauce is a 3-mile loop. See our full trail guide for more.

Bring a trail map, a water bottle or hydration pack, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a helmet. Pack snacks for longer rides. Bicycles Unlimited stocks helmets, cycling clothing, and accessories if you need to gear up.

You can ride year-round in Southern Utah, but spring and fall offer the best temperatures.
